Plastic surgery of thighs
Back

The increasing age of a person brings, sometimes slower, sometimes faster, inevitable changes of the whole organism. On one side we collect experience and knowledge, on the other our body wears out. The best is to preserve a persons' full physical and mental capability for as long as possible, because even a balanced person is resentful to signs of ageing. Signs of ageing, for example drying out of skin or the lack of skin elasticity in certain body parts, begin to appear at different age. Skin folds begin to form, the skin looks "too big". A similar state occurs after a big body weight reduction.

Pre-surgical instructions:

1) After the plastic surgeon's check-up and after having determined the date of the operation the patient gets a recommendation for the internal pre-surgical check-up, which must be done more than 1 month before the operation.
2) The patient must not be suffering from any virus-based or any other diseases or undergoing convalescence (recovery).
3) Starting at midnight on the day on which the operation is to take place the patient must not eat, drink nor smoke.
4) For a period starting 1 week prior to the operation the patient has to eat only light food which does not bloat.
5) The surgery is paid for on the day of the operation. The patient will receive a receipt for the amount paid.
6) At least one month prior to the operation the patient must not use any drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid (which reduces the blood coagulation), for example Acylpyrin, Acylkoffin, Aspro, Alnagon. The usage of these drugs highly increases the risk of heavy bleeding during and after the operation; such a patient cannot undergo the operation!

The operation itself:
Back

The operation is done in a complete anesthesia and takes about 2-3 hours. The cut is carned out alongside the cutting lines previously measured and drawn and takes approx. 3/4 of thighs perimeter. The skin (including hypoderm) is made loose from its base and pulled up, with its excess being removed. The spot is then stitched and covered with bandage. The patient wears elastic pants.

The post-surgical period:

The first several days after the operation the patient lies in bed with the exception of walking a few steps several times a day (as a prevention to embolism). The surgeon decides whether the patient needs hospital care (we recommend 2 days) and determines the dates of ambulatory check-ups. Stitches are removed 10-14 days after the surgery. We recommend 6 weeks with no workload and wearing the elastic pants. The scar gradually turns pale and its quality depends on the healing process of the patient.

Possible complications:

The complications are general - bleedings and infections. Therefore the patient must undergo thorough pre-surgical check-up and follow all the surgeon's recommendations and advice.
